Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

The Estes Clone I flew on a C6-3

The Hawks Hobby I used an E31-8. The delay was way too long. The chute came out but with the downward position and the airspeed, the chute was blown back and snagged on one of the pod nose cones. The passenger section crumpled badly. I am in the process of repairing it now.

CTI has an E31 that comes with a 15 sec delay (24mm). I drilled it down to 8 sec. Should have dropped it to 6

I didn't know CTI makes motors that small.
Will have to look into those. Is their E31 a full 40n-sec E ?

I finally started on Mine, but think I will use altimeter only and not Duct the exhaust gases. It is all just dry fit, at the moment.

Did you make your own alignment template or use the PDF that Jerry supplies? (which is the one I drew up)

I've only launched this once, but the ducted ejection worked fine.......
