It is looking good, and I am positively inspired to build one too. I dug out all the needed parts from my stash to build my own 1340-20.

Between this forum, TRF, and Facebook, Jack's 1340-20 build threads have to be the longest, most epic E2X build thread in model rocket history.

The next flight for it will be an Estes F15 motor. I simmed a Apogee Medalist F10 motor as says it'll reach 4,000 feet.

I look forward to seeing you build yours and flying it!

I am undecided about fin can color. Mine is a blue "Maniac" fin can. Should I paint it yellow to match a yellow "Eggspress" capsule? Or should I go with red or fluorescent orange for the fin can and black for the egg capsule from the Estes TARC small parts assortment?

If you want to its color scheme to be like the one in the promo flyer then paint the fin can red and the rest like I did on my model.

My 1340 had a nice flight on a D12-5 motor this past weekend. Viewing this thread has also inspired me to build a 1340/20 clone. I will use black ABS filament for 3D prints of the nosecone and transition, and I am planning on using wire loops for the launch lugs as shown in the original plans.

OK, black. And wire loops. But I will go with a shorter, 5-inch, ST-20 payload tube, and whatever bulkheads, spacers, padding, and altimeter housing I need to turn it into a dual egglofter. Might as well put the 1340/20 to work like it was intended to.
