Default MMs & 55 Scratcher, continued.

The Red Max in Red is Classic, but she's no slouch in Orange, either. For Number Three I'm considering 2X Oasis Blue. (I'm pretty sure I shoulda picked up more than a six-pack when Estes was giving these things away.)
For the Scratcher, I found a Sidewinder Cone and Collar in Stock. I'm thinking if I paint the payload section in narrow Black & White stripes I better plan on sticking its launch rod in a cinder block. (Cause a Porta Pad or Big Foot'd just turn to Goo.) Sheesh.

Default I had to see what 2X Oasis Blue looked like.

Might this blue carry some of Tamiya's PS-3's best qualities?

I contacted Tom Prestia (Tango Papa) several months ago. He can upscale/downscale any of his decals. He can also change colors, and certainly change wording. He did a set of upscaled Orbital Transport decals for me years ago. I had someone else make me a set of green OT decals before that, and Tom said he can do that also. His decals are first rate.

I had contacted him him since his website is very old and I wanted to make sure he was still doing decals. He is, he just needs a website refresh!

Default 91% Complete

I enjoyed the 2X Oasis Blue so much, it almost brought me to tears. 2 nose cone Nicht Stompen decals, Gloss Clear, and I can hang 'em.
Wouldn't it be fun to make a complete Crayola 8 Box of Mini Maxes? Or, more likely, just the Primary and Secondary Colors? 2X Meadow Green would certainly POP on this model. But, what is it about green on rockets? Beyond recovery issues with spotting a model in a meadow, it's rarely used even as an accent color. Estes Maverick has a green cone and there's an FSI model (I think) that killed it...
I guess if you make a green rocket you're just gonna have to run some Godzilla decals to put on it.

Default Speaking of Color

I found these Krylon Colors on Clearance and shot a test tube finished in 2X SG White. The shimmery-glitter effect is really nice, and the glossiness is impressive, too. I'm a little concerned with getting metallics on a model without runs & drips, but I'll keep these paints in mind for the next go.
