Here's a somewhat small image of the Xacto #1 knife from the 1930s....very similar in look to the knife in that set mentioned above.

Apparently from 1917 to 1930 Xacto was focused on Hypodermic devices.
The company did not produce interchangeable blade hobby knives until 1930.
Hopefully some pre-war literature will turn up.

The two #89 sets that Sue put up on ebay for $289.99 and 299.99 are no longer on ebay.
I think she pulled them off. I don't show them as sold. I can understand $229 maybe but not over $300 with shipping. Just too steep.

Here is an old #82 set, probably from the late 40s or so, not in perfect shape by any means, but it does look like it has one of those somewhat rare 'wooden handled' #5 knives. Several here will recall a wooden handled #5 that Sue showed us photos of.

Just picked up a 1966-1967 Xacto catalog from the seller below. Will scan and send to Scott once it gets here.

They also have a pretty good price on a nice looking 1969 Xacto catalog. They have two copies. Price is $14 plus $3 shipping. If you are like me, electronic copies are great but nothing really totally compares to a hard copy in hand.

I picked up one of these used (Barely) for a negotiated price of $40 shipped on Ebay.
But here it is brand new on clearance sale from Model Expo.
With 20% off, no free shipping. $9.99 flat rate.
If I had the money, I'd buy another one.

No, not yet. I just bought it off eBay like two days ago (the day I posted the message about it here). And it is coming from CA (and has to travel all the way to GA), so it will probably take a good 10 days (or more) to get here the way the postal service has been in recent months.

But once here I will scan and send to Scott.
