Default eRockets Parts discontinued

I noticed this morning that there are a lot of balsa parts and body tubes marked as discontinued and discounted at eRockets. Lots of 175 and 225 sized stuff. I always thought it was amazing that Carl had so many nose cones available. I guess when the demand goes away that's a lot of money in product lying around, not to mention the space it takes up. Better get them while you can.

The 175 and 225 parts started getting discontinued quite awhile ago. Maybe when the SLS kits were discontinued. I may take a look, since I thought most of it is gone, other than the really odd length tubes, like little short sections.

I just looked, there is a lot more than I thought!

Kinda expected a lot of this after the transfer of ownership.
Sure isn't Carl's Semroc.
Maybe imitated, but sure not duplicated.

The previous Semroc was the gold standard once-in-a-lifetime company.
Their parts selection allowed me to clone many Centuri/Enerjet classics far before they were re-kitted.

That seems to be the case in my experience.

It looks like the vast majority of these items are SLS related cones and tubes. Actually, I had wanted to order some #175 unslotted tubes right after the SLS kits were discontinued because I thought the parts would go next, but all the tubes were listed as discontinued then. So, I never ordered any. But, I figured they probably still had some in stock.

It appears this is their effort to clear that remaining stock out. So, I was able to get four #175 unslotted tubes; two that were 20" long and two that were 22" long. Got some #115 to #175 centering rings as well, but only had four of those in stock.

Before you move on to another project due to lack of parts you might want to contact Randy Boadway at eRockets and ask if they either have or can make up what you need. I visited eRockets a couple years ago for one of their infamous Tuesday WSR club build nights and during casual conversation about some oddball centering rings I needed for a scratch build they offered to make them on the spot! Unfortunately I couldn’t recall the exact dimensions I needed (I ended up making my own at home for that project, which crashed spectacularly). It’s at least worth a quick email to find out.

I posted this to let people know that these items are going to be out of production. I appreciate it when others let this be known as I tend to procrastinate buying things until they're no longer available. This was not meant to be a comment about eRockets.

FWIW, on eRockets, the SLS Arcas is 20% off, normally $75, now $60, 3 left. The SLS Lil Augie is 10% off. They're not listed as discontinued, though it seems as though they probably are.

We get it rraeford. Most of us aren't swayed by the usual blowhards attempting to use this forum as their own personal soapbox to smear a good man's name. Why such libel is tolerated on YORF over and over and over again is something I do not understand. I'd ban the troll, permanently.
