Default Canaroc FK-3

This is a clone built with Estes parts. Pretty quick and dirty, but it turned out looking a lot better than I thought it might. Flown once nekkid, but I recently got my printer cooperating again, so I worked up a set of decals based on the scan at YORP. The scan prints the decals as a full sheet from the pdf, so I had to figure out how to size them. Not perfect, but close enough.

Great job, Bill. Canaroc had such great designs.

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with it. I even got inspired to put a base coat on the other Canaroc design I had finished in primer. I'm going to have to let Gordon handled the decals for the Orion, though. White is out of my league. Also pulled the plans for the Eager Beaver and one of the Tornado rockets.
Why Eager Beaver?

I REALLY like the Canaroc line of model rockets. This thread provided the nudge I needed to build an FK-3. Then, I was going through some of my Canaroc newsletters and came across the deisign for the Maxi-FK-3. I couldn't resist!

Hung out with Taras at the Can-Am Cup in Muncie this past Labor Day weekend. Last I heard he went down to Texas for another Cup event and set an NAR F Altitude record or at least made a worthy attempt. I help him try to find his F Altitude record attempt in Muncie, but he declared it lost.

When this necro-post came up, I thought Bill had come back. Just for a second....

Anyone know how Bill has been? Don’t think he has posted here in months, but not completely sure on that.

He has been pretty quiet. His profile says he was last on YORF yesterday morning. So he’s at least been lurking….

Same for “that other forum” — last on yesterday.

I know that many here on YORF are not on Facebook, and are unaware of the news.

Bill posted on the 26th that his mother passed away on Christmas. I cannot imagine the grief Bill and his family experienced. Any time of the year is tough, but especially tough during the holidays.
