Estes Pro Series II Ventris Kit
I just received a box from Penrose, Colorado.
Inside was a new Pro Series II Ventris kit. First impression: Looks good. I will open the package later and take a better look at it. This model now goes to the top of my build list.

Whenever I get one I will be curious how it holds up to H/I power or very high thrust 29mm.
I am actually pretty optimistic. John can send me one if he wants. Jerry |

What toobs does it use? Standard Estes stock, or something sturdier?
It's a fairly handsome model, like a hybrid of Aero-Dart and Hustler.

The sustainer/main body tube is 2.0" in diameter. The payload tube is 2.5" in diameter. The wall thickness is significantly more than traditional Estes body tubes. I think Estes is using tubing sizes that originated with the Pro Series kits of the the early/mid 1990s. I like the appearance and paint scheme of the model. For my Ventris, each side of the fins will be getting two vertical white stripes. Should look good with my colection of Aero-Dart models.

It's probably the paint job, but it reminds me of an upscaled Reflector 2422.
Looks like there are some disclaimers in the packaging? Allen |

I notice the tubes for this kit are not available for purchase from Estes. I wonder where people will get replacement tubes?

Having no replacement parts available is about as logical as marketing theory behind wanting to pay $15.95 for an estes branded relabled AT E30T motor that a few months ago were 3 for $21.99. DUMB.
It is commendable Estes is trying to branch into the MPR market of kits, but patently idiotic to offer re-branded higher priced motors that are the exact same Aerotech products.

Spare parts are always lagging, but the current Estes meme caused by Barry's disposal of all spare parts for tax purposes, is here with us for a significant time till Estes restocks the parts department, if they even have incentive to do so.
I can't get spare parts for a lot of consumer products I purchase. I just have to buy entirely new products and cannibalize them. With Estes converting to a mass-merchandiser and the unholy disposal of spare parts from the corporate inventory, we may be here to stay now. It has to be a fairly major hassle to stock and service parts orders as compared to shipping a pallet or two of new kits for not much more labor and accounting. Jerry |

Just because the website does not list replacement tubes for sale today does not mean they are not available or that they will never list them. They are busy and may have forgotten to get to that or it may not have been as high a priority as getting the kits out in the first place. Estes is not charging more than Aerotech. The list price from Estes is EXACTLY the same as the list price from Aerotech and that Aerotech list price has not changed. you are comparing list price to extreme discounted prices and the reson for the previously discounted prices has been explained to you many times already. Both Estes and Aerotech motors will be available from online resellers for the same normal discount price they always have been.
