Default Small commemorative launch

My 1/200 Estes Saturn V lifting off from a 1966 Electro-Launch at about 6 minutes after the exact 50th anniversary time this morning.

Pat Fitzpatrick (pterodactyl) launched his right at the liftoff time (second picture).

(these are both frame grabs from video then rescaled to that Scott's software would let me upload them)

Thanks for sharing and for keeping the memory alive. Towers always make the scale Saturn launches just that much more realistic.

Bernard, very nice touch, having the launch tower.

I’m heading to Pueblo Saturday to fly my 1:200 Saturn V. Hopefully a good turnout with some attendees flying 1:100 Saturns, and maybe an Apogee Saturn V.

John Boren, if you see this, certainly you’ll have a #1969 to launch?!

It looks like if you register your launch today, Huntsville will send you a certificate:

https://www.rocketcenter.com/apollo50/GlobalLaunch/Info

I got in six flights today so I registered, I got a confirmation email but nothing further yet.

Barry has been hanging out here all day so I didn't launch anything. This is by far the wettest July I can remember. Glad to see others have been able to launch.

Sorry, but I will be the Contest Director for an Electric Airplane Fly In this Saturday for the Airplane Club I belong too. Back in January when the club decided on the date and applied for our official Sanction for this Fly In, I wasn't even thinking about the Saturn Anniversary.

You can still bring down that STUFF you wish to give me. Just leave it with Max or Ben and They'll get it to me at the next club meeting.
