BTW, I want to think I've seen posts on r.m.r. or Rocketry Online where folks snagged some vintage LJII's and had wrap alignment issues. I may have been hallucinating. I do like to use lacquer paint.

I made level one and two at Whitaker’s NC back in 2005 when ATF really starting cracking do on rocketry. Decided to sale my Level 2 bird to a guy in Canada and return to my roots, A-F. My L1 Rocket was NCR by Estes Patriot that went up on H165R, took my L2 test that day and did the flight on Loc Sonic 5.38” modified bird with missile works altimeter with two stage recovery that went up on a Aerotech J420R and onboard wireless camera, we watched and recorded the flight live.

Sure happy that the nails, glue and rubber bands all hailed together and that the fire depart had their catching neat there.....Lol. Just kidding

I really not sure about those wraps, if early kits required the builder to do them.

Thank you!
PS: TRA 10484 is no longer active and even had my Level 3 15’ Rocket plans approved by two tap members for construction. Glad I didn’t order all the parts, that is for sure!

Those wraps have horrible alignment. That is a BAD JOKE.
None of the 1/45 kits I know of came with uninstalled wraps.
I wouldn't even bother to try to fix that mess.
Wayyyyyy less hassle to just get the vinyl skins and be done with it.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

I did my L2 south of there in Orangeburg. IIRC, it's the only commercial motor over a G that I ever flew. Everything else was EX up through M. Like you with the ATFE "jack booted thugs" (tm Bob Kaplow) and with Pepcon blowing to smithereens, I retired from HPR and went back to LPR/MPR exclusively. I haven't flown anything larger than a cluster of 4 D12's in years.

I kind of disagree with GH. Since it's a classic Centuri kit, I'd keep the original wrap even if it can't be cleaned up. Build a new Estes LJII if you want perfection!
