Default Pre-Damon LJ II on eBay--Curently at $500

I think this is the highest I've seen one of these on eBay and the bidding is not over.

It's crazy what some people will pay for some paper, balsa and cardboard.

What's crazier is the time we spend putting said paper, balsa, and cardboard together into a finished product.

The fact that there are 53 bids (currently) on this auction tells me (a) the bidders are particularly inexperienced even though they have some considerable feedback, and (2) there is a particular emotional & irrational attachment to this particular kit. I would not attribute any final bid outcome to anything approaching 'market value'.

And that's why we never fly them naked, and always take pics before the first flight. They look their best then, and, as you note, may never look the same or be seen again afterwards

What is "market value" if not whatever the market will bear? If there's someone willing to pay $500+ for this particular kit, is that not its market value?

Not that I would pay that much.....

Not when you have two auction participants bidding each other up to unrealistic final auction prices.

But yes, fair market value is the price at which a seller is willing to sell, and a buyer willing to buy.

I would call this auction an aberration

With 2 hours, 41 minutes left to bid, the price is at $565. Wonder if the final price will break $650?

BTW, not my listing nor do I know the lister. Just a curious observer.
