Well there's one reason they (F62's) won't be made anymore. Scott isn't into the hobby end anymore. He sure made some Great motors! I wonder why he dropped out, "way back when."

Scott may have burned out having to deal with Tunick.

Ron Urinsco was another big name in motors on the EX side of things that dropped out before Pepcon and 9/11, IIRC. He was in just about every TRA mag for a good stretch. Some other EX folks dropped out due to Pepcon, 9/11 induced BATFE over regulation, etc.

Hummm, yeah, didn't think about Tunick. I can see problems for anyone dealing with that guy. I think that's a good call, tbzep.

I know the name Ron Urinsco, and have heard only good things about him as well.
We lost some good folks, and that hurts.

"Dixon described being a military contractor as "taking wheelbarrows of money from the bank, and then taking wheelbarrows of money to the bank." What that means is: Providing materials for the U.S military pays well, but it is also a very expensive investment that does not produce consistent returns. In order to find a more stable income, Dixon became involved in hobby rocket science applications. But recently, due to misuse of hobby rockets by some enthusiasts — Dixon referred to people who "try to shoot a 20-pound bowling ball 2,000 feet in the air" — he has limited his role in that business. "I was afraid I was going to get sued," he said."

Thanks for this post. I guess I missed this.

OK, color me dense. How does/did Scott figure he can be sued? Is that possible? Why not CTI, Aero-Tech, or any motor maufacturer?

Seems like he's refering to "Balls" launches, eh?

"I don't care who ya are, that there's funny."

Roy (in a state where you can't text, or even look like your texting, but you can still be holding a phone up to your ear, or be reading a newspaper or book while driving.... I guess they figure that only takes one hand?)

I for one don't like ANY GUBMINT entity butting into my stinkin' bizzness in my own car be it eating a burger, reading the paper, texting, yelling at a brat or whatever as long as i'm not weaving or creating a menace for any other driver. I don't care what percentage the supposed accident rate goes up either. It's all tack on charge gubmint cash-grab CRAP !
If you hurt someone and are at fault in a vehicle crash, there are no excuses and why does not matter; you are at fault for failing to keep vehicle under control in YOUR lane, you will pay.
If you have no fault in a crash and get hit but you happen to be drunk, texting, eating spaghetti, whatever you should NEVER be charged with anything.
My state just passed a garbage mamby-pamby texting ban which is just one more garbage cash-grab charge some johnny-law can pull over motorists to harass them.
In my area it has not seemed to stop texting any more than speed limits seem to slow down vehicles...now I do admit OUR State Police here in Michigan are much more sensible (12+mph cushion on most freeways) regarding speed limits than the GESTAPO they have down on ohio freeways/turnpikes.

I heard so much from Estes employees this past week that points out that they all have a great sense of humor.
