Very nice and full of snowbirds.

My mom has a condo on FMB. I'm heading down right after Thanksgiving. LOTS of midwesterners down in SWFL.

I am in the Tri-Cities area but have not been here long enough to even consider launching. n fact my stuff is all still in storage in FL. Also do not know Laurel Bloomery. We are currently in a campground in Blountsville while we look for a home. We plan to settle in this general area as we love the mountains.

Fair enough. I know nothing about poker. There are some nice communities in the Tampa area. Two of my kids lived there until they moved to CO.

Would really like to be on Captiva Island not sure yet. Probably 10 years off.
My better half is retiring in 2 years, but I'm gonna work another ~10.
Money is too good to stop right now.

Captiva is a beautiful island. Hope you have a nice pot of cash stashed, or are prepared for a hefty mortgage (rhetorical).

On one of your other posts in this thread, when you said you were up in the NE corner I took it that you were nearer to Laurel Bloomery, which is indeed right near the NE corner . While in Blountville checkout Appalachian Caverns, off the beaten path and really nice. Good luck to you and yours.

I have flown by myself most of my life. Started in the late 60's and never joined any club until 99, when I discovered high power. However, you are right, there does not seem to be any clubs here. I may try to rectify that once I am settled...

Funny, I just noticed a sign for the caverns a couple of days ago in my travels and made a mental note of it. Thanks.
