I bought an Estes Long Tom as I have both the plastic adapter and nose cone for use with a ST-8 tube. Still haven't decided to build as is or with the Centuri parts. Nice builds, guys. Might give me incentive to start.

Chas

Not sure what upper tube the Estes re-issue is. Earl

The Estes reissue kit has a BT-55 Booster section at 3.25".
The upper stage starts with a BT-55 at 12" long.
Above the balsa adapter is a 12 5/8" long section of BT-50.

The balsa reducer is the same one used in the Estes Magician kit.

I assume the original Long Tom used the "Passport" staging?

I know it would be an extra expense and complexity, but I'd put up with that if it meant not having to tape motors together.

The Centuri Long Tom was ST-13 to ST-8, so for Estes: BT-55 to BT-50.

Yes, Passport staging. Always worked well.

Yes, identical staging as the Warp II and the Loadstar II. Ive always liked the design also.

If you have any questions about the Centuri version, I have one in the bag that I intend to build one of these days.
