Antar variant.
I built an Estes Antar when it was first released and finished it like the box photos. On this one I'm mixing it up and I've employed the abilities of "The Vixen" for a camo version.
The colors are: Seaside Blue for the underside, Winter Gray for the top base coat, and then "The Vixen" hand painted the pattern with Model Master Dunkelgrun enamel. I hand painted the dorsal fin and small fins with gloss black enamel. I'm waiting on some special decals that should be here soon! TBC

Slick! The ANTAR has proportions that just work and an “operational” paint scheme fits nicely.

and............Voila! It's the DA 01! (Duetsche Antar 01)
-(7) different paints (including primers and dull coat.) "The Vixen" freehanded the camo pattern and I myself freehanded all of the black decals. -decals from Peddinghaus and from Super Scale International. -instead of a swastika I put an edelweiss on the tail and the numbers 517 (my telephone area code when I was a kid in S. Michigan.) -copper nose cone tip instead of silver. -the only decals I used from the kit were the red nose band, the red details beneath the rudder, and the faux access panels on the belly. It might be too pretty to fly. We'll see.

Thanks! I hadn't expected it to be so cool looking--but the model just BEGS to be customized.

Beautiful work as usual, Jeff!
Have you considered panel lines? You've inspired me... Allen |

I thought about doing panel lines—since I do have the markers for it, but I decided not to. I’ve sometimes found that when I try to make something too detailed it’s hard to know when to stop—and it can end up “messy.” When I laid the faux access panel decals on the belly I held it at arm’s length and said “enough”. The Vixen agreed.
