Another launch date change. Now targeting Nov. 16th at 1:04 a.m. (think late Tuesday night) with a two hour launch window. Does not appear they will be doing a rollback to the VAB. Backup launch date on the 19th.

I will find it disappointing if it turns out to be a night launch.

Orbital Mechanics waits for no one.

Well, orbital mechanics has been waiting for the SLS for about a decade now. You'd think it could wait a week or so longer, if that's what it takes, to give the PAYING public a decent show for their money..........

For the $$ spent and all the time, the launch better NOT be a cato or PRANG.
On other individual's model rockets I REALLY LIIIIIKE POWR-PRANGS and catos.
On taxpayer funded full-scale vehicles, not so much.

And a hurricane f'ed up the last daytime launch window.

If you knew ANYTHING about the orbital mechanics of this particular mission, you would know why waiting for a daytime launch, would require far more than a week or so. IIRC, many weeks, possibly months.

It's not like an Apollo landing mission based on a certain time during a lunar cycle. This one has a hell of a unique huge orbital path once it gets to the moon. And even Apollo-17 got launched at night (as well as quite a few shuttle missions).

NASA's not your monkey to command to do what you want.

Of course, that all assumes the hurricane doesn't do any damage to the SLS.
Given the way this program has gone, I'm expecting it to go back to the VAB next week to repair hurricane caused damage...

The current system crossing Florida was a borderline Cat 1 when I looked at it the other day. It was said by many after it hit to be less of a danger than many of the traditional heavy summer thunderstorms that roll in on a nearly daily basis. They were saying it was just a little bit of wind, then some rain, then a little bit more wind, then some rain, etc.
