I'll be sure to let the pitchers know you feel that way the next time you get into the batter's box.

Was always a pitcher throwin' the ball.
Never in the batters' box.

Ironic, I guess then, cause here's a video of some of the best crowd pleasing plays that I found. Nothing like seeing a prima donna pitcher go down.

comebackers

It's all part of the game right?

Usually the pitcher kicks the crap out of the batter. Recall Nolan Ryan beating the snot outta some toolshed that charged him on a brush-back. Back in the day it was considered NORMAL to plunk a batter or two. Still should be.

Thumbs down

Sorry, but intentional beaning of any ball player is uncalled for. It can cause serious injury and end a player's career. It can even kill someone (Ray Chapman - Cleveland Indians - was hit in the head by a pitch thrown by Yankees pitcher Carl Mays, and died 12 hours later. Only death ever recorded in a major league game).

Robin Ventura, I believe. He did nothing right on that ill-fated charge.

Yep, it was Ventura.
Batters' that crowd the plate deserve the brush-back and occasional TRUE BEANBALL.
Most batters' when messing with Roger Clemens or Nolan Ryan got what they deserved...the short end of the stick. MLB already handicaps pitchers with their ever-shrinking strike zone. In the rules it is supposed to be the middle of the chest (letters) down to just above the knees.
The jackwagon umps have shrunk that to HALF the supposed height. A$ININE.

Yes, a BEANBALL can cause serious injury.
For what those Jokers/Clowns make, there should be REAL THREAT to Life/Limb on each and every play.
I want the VIOLENCE to go UP in direct proportion to the ridiculous ever-increasing salaries, not the opposite that the jacka$$ed pro sports commissioners constantly attempt.
Nothing short of PRISON-RIOT GLADIATOR COMBAT.

I'm not advocating violence, but I agree that these guys are making stupid money, and many have lost all touch with typical lifestyles.

That said, I'm wondering if pro sports may have peaked and are in decline. While I still enjoy watching the big 3, it's not compelling, and I could probably spend the time more productively.

To the point, I have more and more difficulty relating to some guy who gets paid a lifetime of salary for a season's work, but can't seem to understand that his paycheck comes from the fans.
