Default Help Identifying a Rocket

Found this little one in a box of kit builds and scratch builds yesterday.

While I'd like to think it's a scratch build, I've spent all day thinking about it and I'm still unsure. It has some of the details I was playing with in ~ 2006, but that doesn't mean it isn't a kitbash.

BT-55 tube 8 3/4" long. OAL 14", balsa cone, flush rear centering ring, single launch lug, 1/8" balsa fins - papered, dual 13mm cluster, baffle and Kevlar shock cord. Bad paint job.

Any thoughts? If it's an original it's a Cape Byron kit later this year.

I don't know of any kits ever using a 2x13mm cluster.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

I have three, but just because I had the ring sets laying around. A Big Bertha, a Red max and one scratch build that has since floated away. AND we forgot about the ThunderStar, the X-Prize kit.
That said, I'd bet significant body parts that the rocket in question is a scratch build.

But it's 2x13mm, not 18mm.
Makes no sense and I know of NO KITS that have ever clustered 13mm engines.

I plugged the measurements into OR and it sims to 400ft. Maybe a nice park flier and an introduction to clustering on a budget; motors are expensive here in Oz.

It shows obvious signs of having a number of flights and successful recovery. Limited market, but I only sell about 8-10 kits a month anyway.

Might be time to update a few parts and get on with testing when the burn bans finish.

Thanks for the input, Guys. Much appreciated.

Missed that detail. Definitely a scratch build.
