Here's a pretty good deal on an Estes Cobra (old three engine cluster kit) at $80.
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Estes-Cobr...AAOSwxUJdy3C l Please remember, this "Ebay Deals" thread is for posting 'good' or attractive listings on eBay. The "eBay Silliness" thread is for posting some of the more 'cooky' eBay items. Sometimes THIS thread gets mistakenly used for the latter. Earl

I got a Cobra same as this one last month for $110 and that was a bargain.
$80 is a steal.

Here’s one for someone starting out on catalog collecting or simply just a pretty decent deal on vintage catalogs; about $11 each. Pretty common catalogs, but most are in pretty good condition. Three Estes, one Centuri. Late 60s to 1970.
As usual, not my listing nor do I know the lister. Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Vintage-...AAOSw6INd6IA H Earl

I'm still looking for an Estes 2008 catalog - never see that one come up on ebay!

The Estes 2008 catalog was online only, no printed version. That may be why you can't find one on eBay. You can download a copy at

Well, I don't know how much of a 'deal' it will be in the end, but this is an interesting 'time capsule' of a listing. Sets like this are not found too very often.
Looks to be, maybe, a first year issue Estes Alpha starter set. Definitely pre-Damon days. And wow, do the items look all very minty-crisp. If this was your first starter set back in the day, might be a nice trip down memory lane. I suspect this one will require a buck or two to win though. Not my listing nor do I know the lister. I believe that the DSK-70 Alpha Starter Kit was offered only in 1969.
Edit: In the catalog, it is listed as the Astron Starter Kit. https://www.rocketreviews.com/--alpha-starter-kit.html |

Looks like that outfit has been altered just a bit. Appears to have a large wad of recovery material (which was NOT included in the original), and is missing a couple of engines, which WERE.
