The SLS I'd like to see redone as a Semroc Pro Series is the SLS Laser-X. The only balsa in the kit was the NC and transition, which both seem 3D printable. The transition was too weak anyhow, and subject to failure, so the 2nd build I drilled it out and glued in a hardwood dowel.

BTH-70 and BTH-50 would make it close enough for me. The interchangeable motor mounts are fantastic, I use the 4x18 and 1x29, though if I had to choose one, I'd probably go 29, since it looks better. I rarely used the 1x29 until the Estes E16/F15 came out, those are perfect motors. I built a 2nd 1x29 with a permanent 24mm adapter, to fly on 24/40 reloads.

Could not agree LESS with a bring-back of the SLS Laser-X.
The original Centuri small one was boring and the SLS was just Larger BORRRINGGGGG.
Bring back ANY and ALL of the original Mini-Max or Enerjet kits before that thing.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, and HAVOC !

Good to know about the transition - my SLS Laser-X will probably get built this winter so beefing up the transition sounds like a good idea. I considered ginning up a motor mount in addition to the 29mm that came in the kit but I think I’ll stick to the 29mm and just use an adapter for flying on 24mm motors. Hopefully the bigger size makes masking and painting easier than it was with the smaller original version!

Though not everyone's tastes are the same, I can see why Carl chose the Laser-X to do an upscale. It was one of Centuri's most popular kits and was in the Centuri lineup for years.

Kind of an off topic question, but is it Laser “X” or Laser “10”? Is it Vector “V” or Vector “5”?

That's hilarious - because those are great questions! How can we know the answer unless we ask somebody at Centuri? If I had to guess, I'm going with Laser-X, not Laser-10. Vector V vs Vector 5? On that one I'm actually torn!

Reason I ask is I have an iPhone Xr, which Apple calls a “10r”, but the guy at my Verizon store calls an “Xr”. Dang Roman numerals!

By the way, I always thought the Vector V was “5” due to the 5 fins. My interpretation.

I'm trying to recall, but I *think* it was Vector "V." as opposed to "5."

But yes, the 5 fins *do* make me wonder. Possibly an engineering pun by the designer? Hmm...

I think it's alliteration, "V", but I also think that it purposely ties in with 5 fins.
