Will buy the Saturn 1B, but have ZERO interest in a Skylab-ONLY Saturn V.

If you already have a built 1969 kit, think you could you swap out the upper sections between the 1969 kit and the Skylab kit? Just thinking that'd give a good option for a quick 29mm upgrade.

Eh, not a big deal - still getting a Skylab SV so I’m good. My guess would be that between the planning and initial announcement and now something happened to disrupt their supplier in China. Probably some sort of incident or emergency. Or between then and now the price of including the Apollo parts exceeded the range their distributors would agree to - something could have happened between late summer 2019 and now that might have had an affect on availability or cost of those Apollo parts from the maker in China...can’t imagine what could cause that to happen... Hopefully they’ll eventually offer the Apollo parts separately like they do the Mercury capsule and LJII capsule.

The paint scheme on the box is different than the S1b model shown. May be a rendering.

The box is the paint scheme for the Skylab Apollo missions, the model is the Apollo 7 paint scheme. Since the intent of the new release is to pair with the Skylab Saturn V, that's the configuration on the box.
Obviously you can paint it either way.

I am not surprised the two versions in one kit did not make it to production. It seems like a lot of parts (read $) to put in there that would go unused. Probably pushed the price well over $100. Still disappointing. I wanted to buy a couple for the corrected wraps—which I may be able to get anyway when they get around to listing them.

If one really wants a Saturn V, just buy a Estes Shroud, Boyce Aerospace Apollo Capsule and E-Rockets BT58 body tube, this will get you very close.

They clearly priced it out before, they had box art proofs. Something else must've happened. A supplier problem, maybe.

Almost every Sat V part is available on the Estes website, except the capsule set, so you may be onto something there.
