That's a great pic, Space Ranger. Love the use of the canned food labels for skins. Very creative. Here's mine, with the MicroMaxx version in front of it.

Thanks, the Acme Spitfire design inspires so many creative finishes, somewhere on TRF there is a thread showing a lot of cool finishes people have come up with, steam punk, etc. The Micromaxx size must have been very challenging to put together too, with the tiny tube segments.

Had anyone ever used the internal guide holes as an internal launch lug? And does it work ok?

Scot,
tsai over at TRF is awaiting Jim Flis' OK to post templates of the Acme Spitfire. IF he gets Jim's approval, the templates will make it much easier to clone the model. It is a challenging kit to build with the templates, very difficult without 'em.

Or you can wait and see if erockets will be offering the Spitfire as one of the Fliskits they will be producing:

Excerpt from the announcement on the Fliskits website:

"More good news! It looks as though I have a party interested in keeping my designs going well into the future, so keep watch on that score as well".

Third option: See if someone has one for sale.

Actually it's been kind of like a 3d game of Sudoku. With the downloadable skins and internet searching and a few tools, I was able to create centering ring templates and even figure out the clay weight all by myself. It definitely would have been quicker if I had a kit, but it sure was a satisfying challenge. Reading the build threads it sure seems to me the kit was underrated at a 3 skill level, and cloning it from a few bits of info sure shoots it up to a 5.

Fliskits is alive and well and under new ownership. Ray and I bought the company back in late December and are in the process of getting it back up and running. The Acme Spitfire is at the top of the new release plan. We hope to go live next week.

So for all you Fliskit fans, here is the latest.
The website needs serious work. We have received a lot of feedback in the forums and have hired a third party to completely rebuild it.
In the meantime, we do have some kits in stock. Below is the list. If you are interested in a kit, please PM me and I will get it shipped or email me at ericshenderson@aol.com There will be more kits coming online soon, we are waiting for a few minor parts to finish kitting.
