I've heard of airplanes—I spent almost 38 years helping bring certain airplanes into existence—airplanes starting with the 757, then 777, 737 Next Generation and MAX (along with a few that had other uses than coveying people from point A to point B).

But there's that little issue of motors. So NARCON is not a problem, but to be able to actually fly rockets is a little more complicated....hence the road-trip approach.

Yes, the motor availability issue is always a concern when one ships their models to a meet and travels by air.

I drove to NARAM-58 from San Diego. It took two-and-a-half days. I plan to do it again for NARAM-63. I can bring my motors with me.

Yep, exactly. Even if you can get what you want for a price you're willing to pay, what do you do with the ones you don't use if you're flying home?

That said, I just saw that LDRS next year is going to be in Brothers, Oregon. I've been meaning to attend a Brothers launch for some time, and that's a bunch closer. I'll have to see what the dates are. This year NARAM and LDRS overlapped.

That said, I'm more of a NARAM kind of guy than an LDRS type.

I have never seen AC Supply or Belleville at any rocket launch.

Of course, this may not be the club or the field that may be announced, but they are the only club in SC that has experience to do a NSL/LDRS type launch. However, they've been kinda kid gloves about this field for a while, no sparkys, low altitudes (last I saw they'd raised the limit to 7000' AGL).

If ROSCO is the hosting club for NSL which, if it’s going to be in SC, is most likely here’s their field https://www.rocketrysouthcarolina.org/pages/launchsite/

The no sparkies and 7000’ limit aren’t a factor for me, I don’t plan on flying either that high or those motors but it could be an issue for others - especially the altitude limit. I’d say they’ll have to get a higher waiver than that for a successful NSL. Still going to look at making the trip.

They must have just changed that field info (since that page and a couple others weren't available when I checked last night). Their info talked about the Rembert Field until recently. The limits I talked about probably don't apply to this new field.

7000' AGL limit seems awfully weak.
I guess keep 'em Big, Draggy, and Heavy.

, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Not sure but being five miles away and in line of the runways at Shaw AFB might affect that.

At least it's not like NARAM 33 where we were limited to 1700' because we were on the approach path to O'Hare, 12 miles away.

A 1700" AGL ceiling is just plain worthless.

Thanks for the info. Too bad Mr. Temper Tantrum got his way.
