Default MPC Moon Go on eBay

If any one on this forum is bidding on this, https://www.ebay.com/itm/233864211762 please note it doesn't have the Moon Go Nose cone. If someone here does get it though, I believe I have a spare actual Moon Go Nose cone.

I saw that on my lunch break at work today. I have all the parts for one except for the nose cone. I'd love to see a 3D print of one.

There's a guy in here that has done a number of estes nose cones....I was at his thingverse page just the other day checking his stuff out. Anybody have an idea how much a 3D printed LPR nose cone costs?

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3249782

I sent Jack Hydrazine a PM to see if he might be interested in making this nose cone.

Jack Hydrazine, a member here, has been modeling lots of 3D cones as of late. Send him a PM and see if he'll take on this cone. It would be awesome to have available!

Quest used the fins in the old Tracer kit, but looks like they may have dropped the fin unit as well, as I see no current kits, or evidence of the fin unit on their website. There was also a small a parts tree for customizing, I sent an email to Quest on it, and they said "That is not one of the parts sent over to us" When they joined Aerotech. These same parts can be found in the old MPC Taurus kit.

I will reach out to Jack and see if he is interested.

It’s hard to even find Tracers with that fin unit. I have one with that unit, one with a different once piece fin unit and one with a fin can with seperate fins. I suspect the mold went bad.

This rocket is actually one that belongs to Harold Sasloe. (Harsas on the forum.) Not sure if he's getting out of the hobby or just thinning the herd.

I have/had a Moon Go; purchased in the late 70s from AVI!

I flew it many, many, many times. Probably one of my oldest surviving rockets. A few years back I repainted and refurbished it, putting on recreated decals.

After a few more flights, I donated to the Sunriver Science Center rocketry display, along with an MPC launch pad.

I had thoughts of making an upscale Moon Go, using the BMS Mercury capsule. But, i have far too many unfinished projects!
