The listing says it is ‘signed’ by Vern Estes, but this appears to be simply a printed form for Estes customers to report ‘amateur’ rocketry accidents to Estes.

The seller is based here in Augusta it appears and is probably selling off old estate cleanout items if I had to guess.

Hmm . . .

Why would an incident of "making a bomb", using Potassium Chlorate, Sugar, and "Home-Made Black Powder" have been reported to Estes, at all ?

It has NOTHING to do any ANY of their products.

Obviously, the intent was NOT to create a "rocket motor", of any kind.

Saved for "posterity", below.

THE HOUSE, located at 2304 Dearborn St, Augusta, GA . . .

P.S. - ONE MORE THING from the Auction - " You are purchasing the accident report shown. Two sided. Top portion has an apparent fauxe or stamped signature of Vernon Estes ( not hand signed). From 1963. Good condition. From the estate of the gent making the report (John Bailie). "

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Could also be Hokum, Guff, Hooey, Bunk, or Hogwash.

I did some more "digging" . . . John Bailie DID live at 2304 Dearborn St, Augusta, GA. He was born in 1948 and would have been a teenager ( 15 ) , in 1963, at the time of the report. SAME address at the time of his death, too !

His obituary provides some background information . . .

https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/a...e&pid=196443127

Remember this was 1963 . . . It was a "different world" . . . He became an Eagle Scout and a Firefighter . . . I tend to believe the story but, obviously, he never sent the report back to Estes, since he still had it . . . Plus, there must have been a "reason" to hold onto it for 57 years !
