Launch Date: 21 October, 2018
Three old BARS, perfect flying weather, lots of gliders, lots of plastic model conversions, and a few other goodies made for a great launch session. Read the whole story on the blog linked below...

An A10-3T sounds woefully inadequate for that PMC Nike Hercules.
The C in "PMC" lived up to being "Crasher" as usual. Was it "trash bag-n-broom" recovery ??

When in doubt, WHACK the GAS and DITCH the brake !!! Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't ! Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY. ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC ! |

No, If I recall, it just stuck in the ground and there was no damage to the model!

Wowwwww.
I read it "lawn darted" but figured there was a "poof" of plastic shrapnel after that.

In a short written synopsis about the flight, Jim acknowledged that the A10 is inadequate for the weight and drag of the model, but it can only accommodate a 13mm motor tube that is mounted between the four Nike booster motors. He goes on to say that two-stage operation may be the only chance for viable conversion. It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

A shame you lost the Star Trooper. A really good looking combo with the booster. That's one you should consider rebuilding, and maybe flying with 1/2 A's. By the way, I can understand the loss of the upper stage, but with the grass so short, how did you lose the booster??
