I call this one "Bomb Pop", for obvious reasons . . .

The Booster and Interstage are gone . . .

"The Missile is in good condition for it's age, but the rocket booster section (bottom) was severely corroded and ultimately destined to collapse. The Park District wisely decided to take action knowing it was time to prepare this Historic Surface To Air Missile (SAM) for future generations to appreciate and enjoy. The Missile section (top) was removed from the Rocket Booster Section and placed in temporary storage on site. The Rocket Booster section will be removed and replaced with a structural pedestal to support the Missile Section in an 'in flight' position. "

Home of the Missiles....I like that.

Home of the MUTINEERS would be even more entertaining though.
Mutineering and Buccaneership unjustly get a bad rap.

I like the idea of a book about roadside missiles.

His HPR version is really nice too:

If I didn’t have an Estes #7240 and Stickershock vinyl to go with it already on the build pile the 1.2” Binder HoJo would be on order

I have one of the 5.5" SBR Honest Johns in the build pile now--along with two of the Lil Honest John kits. Both are very detailed, semi-scale models. Much closer to the real thing that any other kit available.

Scott also teased a 8" Honest John (L3) to come later this summer. Might have to save up for that one!

The Rocketry Show Podcast is a great resource too.

How about “Roadside Missiles of The Cold War”
