Default What to do when you don’t have a big enough piece of wood

I needed a large version of the BNC-50X to fit a BT-80 tube but since it was for me I wanted to see how well this turned out.

The color difference shows all the layers I needed.
A total of 5 pieces, cutoffs from past jobs

It turned on the lathe just fine.

I thought I’d post a picture before I started to finish it.

I like it!

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

I little CWF or Bondo Glazing Putty, followed by that Bondo Filler Primer, and only you will know it’s not one piece.
Except all of us. That 50X profile is not all that common.

Sprint XXXL?

Almost but not quite a G.

This is the model. An upscale and slightly altered Astron Sprint.

The second pic shows the business end with a slight modification.

Sorry, I was taking its picture.

I made the tail years ago.

How was that tail made to conform around the cluster?

Another one of my many hobbies is wood carving. But balsa is just so easy to work.
I started out on the lathe and finished with hand work…knives, chisels, a Dremal and several grits of sandpaper

The white is Kilz primer.
