You can't get a decent 1971for $10.

I was expecting to pay at least $25, but I did not increase my initial bid. I did an initial bid, then got distracted with family stuff, and never went back to increase. Oh well, just need to keep looking.

After the very classic 1972 catalog (my favorite) is the very similar 1971. The 1976 is actually part of a spectrum of where Estes was at from 1976-1979. For me these were my teen years and what I think of as the very zenith of the golden age of rocketry. Nostalgic memories are reduced to a mere $21.87 spent on eBay. Does $40 seem like too much?

Eww! That one looks like it's been damp at one time.

Yes, saw this one too. I think I'll have to pass. They seem to showing up more, I just have bad timing. I don't mind paying the $$ for a decent one.

The 1977 catalog was probably my first, but the 1978 catalog with the introduction of Star Wars models was big.

The 78 catalog was my first to arrive in the mail. I still have it, although it is very, very well worn. I took that thing to school with me all the time and probably looked through it every night for several months. My cousins gave me earlier catalogs...which I can't find.

Same here. Mine has long since vanished though.
I placed my first order for the Challenger 1 starter set.
Still have it.

My first catalog was the 1977 version. The guy who got me into the hobby gave it to me and I carried it in my pocket for the rest of the summer. He also gave me a 1976 copy later. I don't have either of these, but in 2001 I found a collection for sale on eBay and was the only bidder. I think it went from 1975 to the 1990's. Those I still have.
