Very nice! I've always liked the elliptical fins of the Sprint.

Looks great. On a still day I'd be tempted to fly it on a C6-7. What size streamer did you put in it?

Good Morning;

"Factory" model was equipped with a streamer measuring 90"x1", attached to the shockcord at its mid-point. The only crepe paper streamer material at Wally-world measured 2" wide, so I laid the roll on its side, rested a scalpel on a slab of balsa, and spun the roll to take the width down to about 1.25". Left the length at 90" or thereabouts. Like the plans called for, it is attached at the middle of its length to the shock cord (which is now 1/8" wide elastic, secured to a kevlar loop in the tri-fold mount).

Any thoughts on whether the nose weight is actually needed? I've not attempted to balance the model per the plans yet. Speaking of which, the plans say the C/G should be no further back than 6.5" back from the body tube/nose cone intersection, is that with or without a motor installed? The Rocksim file for the Sprint that I pulled from Rocket Reviews reflects a C/G 22.4 cm back from the tip of the nose cone, approx. 11.4 cm back from the body tube / nose cone intersection (for 2.87 Cal of stability)

Dave

IIRC, the nose weight gives it a little inertia for coast phase for better altitude even if it isn't needed for stability.
