Did a little investigation on the decals, the US flag on the fin, the USA with the blue stars, and red and blue stripes on the main body tube, and the checkered role pattern are Centuri decals. Centuri had a U.S. Flag decal sheet (DC-35) with them in various sizes. Centuri also had color stripes decal sheets (DC-29) which might be where the red stripes just above the ST-13 to ST-8 balsa reducer came from. Not sure about the decal on the gray portion of the nose cone yet.

Well, after many years, I have returned to working on these eBay rescue rockets. I painted up the Orbital Transporter and applied the original decals I had. The decals were in not so good shape, but figured this one deserved them. The two decals for the rear fuselage of the glider were a total loss, so I did have to print them. Overall, it can be returned to service and I will launch it at our next club launch.

That Quasar is cool. I’d be tempted to just paint the new fin and keep it vintage.

I had a Delta, pictured in this old, poorly copied photo from a slide, from the mid-60s. I bought it, in hopes of eventually having a Camroc for it. Sadly, that never happened. I put a nose cone on it, but never flew it, that I recall. It probably would have been horribly unstable.

Very cool vintage picture. Thanks for sharing! I did leave the Quasar original parts as they were.

Thanks Tim,

As you can see, I was very fond of the Estes checkerboard decals, as well as their small sheet of letter decals. I put names on a lot of my rockets.

Those are some really nice rebuilds. I like the chuter 2 and the recruiter. I fixed up some of my old stuff recently and decided to only paint the repaired portions rather than go for a full resto. I prefer the vintage appearance.

Here's the Quasar and Chuter Two painted. Also Centuri MX-774 (had a little bleed through on the black) out of the same eBay rescue.

Looking good!
Don't worry about the bleed through. It goes away as soon as you press the firing button.
