plans for Estes Phoenix
Hi,
I have been searching for a good AIM-54 and since I can't seem to find one, maybe I will try my hand at making one based off the Estes plans. Can anyone help me with plans and fin templates? Thanks |

Hi Johnnwwa,
I think I might do just that. I found a plastic nose cone on ebay that looks to be a better option...the semroc Balsa replacement is pretty expensive and the Apogee PNC is too pointy for a AIM-54. That's great that they have replacement fins for it. Thanks for the link! BTW....what part of Washington are you in? I am in Bothell. |

Nice!
I am actually in the process of setting up a little rocket club with my kids and their friends in the neighborhood, with small low power launches at 60 acres. Mom and Dad go out and provide the kit, and I provide the supplies and know how and we all learn about rockets and how they work, etc. Thinking a lot of Alpha IIIs on the pads! Would be great to plan a little trip out there for your Aug event! |

That's a great idea. And to help you get things going at a cheap price, check these deals out: http://tinyurl.com/6k4hbkm The Boy Scouts are blowing out their rocketry items. You can get a bulkpack of Alpha III's for only $19.88, that's 12 to a box! They also have bulk packs of Gnomes, Wizards and Vikings. Then order some of the bulk packs of A8-3 motors they have for only $19.88, which gives you 24 motors, igniters and wadding! You won't find better prices anywhere for these items. It's way under cost. Scott
