Centuri magnum Jayhawk
Hey everyone, Im back! long story. but I have been trying to clone the magnum Jayhawk and the fin patterns on the YORP site seem out of scale. the smaller main wing piece is way too big to fit to the main large fin, and the rudders are too long. everything else is ok though. did anyone else experience this problem when trying to clone this? the plans say full size but the fins have been giving me all sorts of headache. thanks for the help!

Unfortunately, you're the victim of a set of plans without a scale to go by. By that I mean, there isn't a measurement on the plans (ruler or one insch square) so you can scale them up or down when printing to get the correct dimensions.
Since they do say "Full Size", the patterns must fit an 8.5X11 sheet of paper. Make sure what ever program you are using to print the patterns is set to "No Scaling". This should get you a printout of the original size and the items should match up better.......

ok, i really don't know how to do that on Adobe, but i'll play around with it. I have seen other's jayhawk builds, and the fins are perfect, so it is probably just my computer. I'll see what I can do to fix it.

Printer?
What brand printer do you have?
My printer allows me to do all kinds of things. |

Check out the .jpeg attachment below. Just change "Page Scaling" to NONE.

still not it. the second part of the main wing hangs down about half an inch or a bit more. it should be flush. and i think the contact edge of the main fin needs to be right at 9 inches not counting the second piece. look at the plans to see what i'm talking about

Just printed the wing pattern with no scaling from the .pdf on YORP. The root edge measures 8 5/8", not counting the second piece. The leading edge (indicated by "GRAIN") is 9".

Danny, give me a couple of days and I will try to find my opened Centuri Jayhawk. It is in one of the many boxes of kits in the attic - along with an unopened one.
I will see if I can scan the fins with a ruler and post here and/or e-mail it to you and Scott H. Chas

How do you impose the arrow onto the image like you did on the print screen?
