Rockets and tragedy. Always a good combination.

Figure how old those jeans must have been by figuring out when the price was $12 ...

I've always liked the looks of the Marauder. Yours looks great.

Thanks. Everything came together on that one. The only issue is that it lost the original nose cone on the first flight, and the replacement is a shade off. Not a fatal flaw, but still irritating.

They were fairly new, a year plus at best. Not Wrangler's finest hour.

May still be that price? I bought a pair of Costco jeans for $12.99 (Kirkland brand, like their other in-house brands). Much heavier than the woke Levi's jeans that sell for north of $50 . I bought them for yardwork, but they are actually decent jeans. But, you get a plain pocket on back, so they're basic. (Kirkland brand, like their other in-house brands)

By the way ... Nice report Bill!

I still am amazed how much you fly at a launch, and have time for pictures, then put together such a detailed summary.

I'm amazed by his reports as well.
Keep 'em coming.

The issue with jeans these days is the number of different styles/cuts/fits you have to wade through to find what you're looking for. I'm an avowed straight leg fan, but I've occasionally come home to find that while I like the color of the pants I've bought, and they're the right size, they're obviously made for someone far younger than 59 years old. If I think I can stand another shopping trip, I take them back, but occasionally I'll just bite the bullet and wear them. The nice thing is how easily they slip into the muck boots when I have to wear them. Other than that, did I mention that I like the color?
A lot of what I recall about the flight/launch in general is what I can hear from the LCO chatter and the wisecracks from those around the flightline. I am given a fair amount of crap when I have a rocket on the pad, unbidden, of course. That helps quite a bit when I'm trying to do a launch report.
