Just speculation, but Randy’s health issues and hospital confinement have probably put a damper on getting new products done.

I decided I have too many older kits wasting away in storage. I started my Semroc Saturn 1B today. And your mention of the SST Shuttle reminds me that I really need to get mine built this next year.

I think I’ll sell off or donate some smaller, “less exciting” kits (especially kits I bought on clearance, that primarily were acquired because they were a good deal). I want to focus on getting all my “cool stuff” built.

You mean I'm not the only one that has a bunch of "it was a good deal at the time" kits?

Definitely not the only one, Bernard.
I had 3x most of the Semroc offerings of Carl's Semroc.
I have only one of each of most of them now.
About 5 years ago I sold off a lot of the hoard after I realized I would never get to all of them.
The only vintage kit I sold that I somewhat regret was an Opened but Complete Enerjet Nike-Smoke that I intended to build. Paid around $75 for it in 2003, and sold it for almost $400.
It got to the level that I couldn't justify building it and couldn't justify hoarding it either.

Bernard,

You are not alone! When my kit count got up to 125 or so, I said I would not buy anything until I got it to 100 or less. With clearance sales, and Black Fridays, and club swap meets, my kit count got over 150. Now, with the latest rounds of sales, and the Cyber Mondays, I am at 173! Now I realize some have WAY more than that, but they are probably younger, and have more years left to build stuff.

And I am not even counting all the tubes and nose cones, plus assorted parts like centering rings, which could probably build another 20 or more rockets ...

My biggest regret in all my kit purchasing is that I did not buy up a lot of the great Semroc kits before they disappeared.

I wish I had doubled up on all the Semroc SLS kits that I now have left. I had one of each except for the Laser-X and the Brighton I didn't care much for those two and the Brighton went in and out of production for a bit.

I only have duplicates of the Lil' Hustler and the Aero-Dart left. My larger Hustler took a crash from a bonus delay once that pretty much destroyed it all I have left from that one is the payload section. For a while I was flying at least one Semroc SLS kit at each launch I attended as they still are some of my favorite flyers.

I was not interested in the SLS LaserX or the Brighton.
I have all the others, built and most of them as kits too.
Really enjoy the SLS kits, but wish they would have gotten to kitting all the Enerjet ones too.
