Default Estes Semi Scale Saturn V Rebuild.

Found 2 Estes K -39 Semi Saturns built and did the rebuilds. First, I contacted Boyce Aerospace who makes the Engine Fairings in 1/100 and requested them in 1/242, which is the Semi V scale. Sure enough, they did a perfect job. Knowing these kits will never fly, a "static " type was built. I also copied some body wraps , turned them around, etc.,and saved that paint on Bottom section. Overall,,, looks great ! Dan

Nice to see these old kits brought back to glory. I really want to build the one vintage kit I have, just haven't gotten up the courage to let the Estes magic out of the bag.

Oh No,, Don’t do that ! They pop up now n then. Plus Randy at eRockets still has the parts, I think, if you want to clone one. I can supply the wraps.....

Nice restore job Dan! I built one of those back in 1969 - never did finish it. I can't remember what happened to it either. I still have a Saturn 1b and an Arcas from then.

I agree with you - don't open that vintage kit. Best to clone one.

Steve

Are these the Saturn V wraps you used?

Are you going to add engines to the models?
