I have a few old Centuri kits and will from time to time purchase them if the mood hits. I started in rocketry in 1972 and the shop I went to near my home carried mostly Centuri so that was a lot of what I flew in those days. I've cloned quite a few as well. My long time wish was recently fulfilled when I found a Centuri Saturn IB on ebay and picked it up for a good price; been wanting that kit since I was a kid. Someone started this one so I have no problems with building it, just have to get up the nerve. I also have a couple of the large Little Joe II kits and an old wood launch pad from Centuri still in the box.

So many of the models in catalogs are preproduction examples or prototypes. It’s hard to know what is “correct” from the kit. If you follow Chris’s build threads, he talks about how his preproduction Estes kits were changed for the final production runs. Also, Centuri famously made running changes in production, substituting nose cones, etc. This is much discussed elsewhere.
