There was actually a point during my infestation that I actually wanted to die. IIRC, my GF at the time (I hadn't met "The Vixen" yet) had the dubious pleasure of "painting" each and every one of my chigger bites with something that resembled clear nail polish. The chiggers burrow under the skin and set up shop and the way to kill them is to smother them with the clear polish. Chiggers are terrible. I wouldn't wish them even on Hitler.

Yeah, I hated to laugh at your plight, but as soon as you said the area you all were laying on was infested with chiggers, well, I knew the outcome was NOT going to be in your favor. The only problem about any of the known cures for the things is that none of them work fast enough! I’m starting to itch a bit just thinking about it.... Earl

Last year Estes sent Marshall Space Flight Center the SLS prototype for use in the Apollo celebrations. I got to fly it at the launches and the bosses gave it to me after things were done - it’s on my shelf at work. The flights went very well on C6-3 motors.

Years ago Estes claimed a model rocket motor could not be ignited with a match.
I proved them WRONG , IN THE HOUSE. Ignited a C6-0 while HOLDING it by touching a match to the TOP of the grain. Naturally I also got a burned hand from the flash out the nozzle at the end of the "reverse burn". It was hilariously MORONIC, yet Refreshingly Sophomoric. Needless to say neither Mom nor Dad approved of this activity which filled the upper story of our house with a huge reeking smoke cloud. I think I was around 13.

We've known for months that the new Sat V will have parts for both. Back in the old days (1970) one of our club members built his Centuri Saturn V for FSI F100 motors. Always put in a pretty flight. here's a picture of it lifting off at an air show in 1971, and that's current Estes owner John Langford kneeling at the launch panel.

Bob, that’s great! I am thinking about grafting on more tube and making a Bigger Big Red Max.

Definitely. Nothing in Estes' inventory for 3" tubes comes close to that shape. I've done 2.6" and 4" upscales of several PNC-60AH based kits by turning my own NC's. A 3" Patriot is going to be pretty long, but the big thing would be that huge set of decals!
