Sent packages to my daughters last week from Cleveland.

The one to Albuquerque, New Mexico has been delivered.
The one to Columbus, Ohio is still in transit.
Right before Christmas, to northern Florida was somewhat timely, well it made it there from Cleveland in less than three weeks.

Shipping times for anything other than FedEx or Amazon Prime have gotten downright ridiculous.
I have been waiting for a MONTH for an ebay shipment of four 1oz bottles of paint.
Demand FedEx for anything you need in a timely fashion.

Of course not applicable to everyone, and applying to Amazon deliveries only - but my Amazon deliveries now go into my garage with the Amazon/MyQ gadget. The delivery guy has a one-time code to open the garage door. I get notifications of the garage door activity, and I can now see it's status and control it with my phone. ... and they paid me $5 to set it up.

Yes, there are security implications, yadda yadda, but if someone wanted in, they'd more likely break a window anyway, or walk-in thru the door that is often unlocked. But they're not casually taking Amazon packages off my porch.

Where does one learn proper Porch Piracy techniques ?
Enrolling in Buccaneering/Mutineering 101 at your local community college ?

I always found the U.S. Naval Academy mascot of "Midshipmen" excruciatingly BORING.
Changing to Buccaneers or even better MUTINEERS would be far more interesting.

Back when I was a teen growing up in West Texas, I had a friend who was a part time trapper. One day I helped him run his traps and one of the live traps had caught a bobcat. Since there was a law preventing him from skinning the cat, he drugged it and he got a bright idea of putting the drugged bobcat into a suitcase and leaving it on a table at the roadside park about a mile outside of town. We then hid in the brush next to it and settled down to watch. Sure enough, about 45 minutes later a car stopped. The guys in it got out, saw the suitcase, looked around, then grabbed it and piled back in the car and started driving off while one of their number opened it. Before they drove 10 feet, all 4 doors opened up and they bailed out with the car still in gear. A pissed off bobcat followed out the passenger side rear door spitting and hissing with all claws out. it then disappeared into the brush.

The driver then ran back in to stop the car, they all piled in and burned rubber getting out of there.

It took us an hour to stop laughing.......
