Default Midsouth Rocket Society Monthly Launch

Mid South Rocket Society is having their monthly launch on Saturday, November 13, 2021 starting at 9 am. Launch site is off Garden Road in Shelby Farms, Memphis TN. You can visit the website for more information.

https://midsouthrockets.com/

There will be at least two Level 1 Cert attempts. I'll be launching my Apogee Zephyr on an H100W. Other flights I hope to get in are the Estes Broadsword on an F67 and G77 (yep, modified it for 29mm), cloned Canaroc Super Tornado (I like it best on a B6-4), my granddaughter's Estes Baby Bertha on a B6-4, and if I can find my 30" comp chute, an original Canaroc Scorpion on a C6-3 (too heavy, in my opinion, for smaller parachutes).

Launch reports and updates to follow. If you live relatively close, come on in and launch a few. Field has been plowed (no weeds) and might dry out some (rained this morning) by then.

What another great day for flying!

Three Level 1 Certs were successfully completed. Even a guy from Little Rock made the trip to get his cert on a very big Red Max.

Forecast made for questionable flying with wind gusts but things settled into a pattern of great flights, including my cert flight with an Apogee Zephyr on an AeroTech H100W. And as the winds calmed, I put up the NCR Bomarc on a G77-4R.

The Range Master flew his RC DynoSoar Tomcat. The RSO b put up a scratched built model on an Estes E motor. He used the shipping container from a launch rail for his body tube. The rocket reminded me of the Ace Allegra. I even put up my Estes Broadsword on an F67. There were no long walks for recovery (my cert rocket landed within 200 feet of the launch area). Did I mention it was a great day for flying!

These are pictures of my cert rocket......

Don, that Bomarc is just beautiful! Since the Bomarc was originally created to intercept high flying enemy bombers, that third photo is a real classic! Was that intentional or just good luck?

LOL! Just luck. But it sure looks like an intercept in progress.

ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !
