Virgin Orbit
Virgin Orbit had a successful flight yesterday. Launcher One is a nice looking rocket. It has fins and enough farkles to make it a step or two more than just a 4FNC rocket. It would make a good scale project for someone that doesn't want to spend a year on one rocket.
And I like plaid.

I can't blame you on liking THAT plaid !
She could wear a "Lucy Ricardo" burlap potato sack dress and still look good.

Not to distract from the plaid, but I used the dimensions I could find online to sim a quick 1/43 "semi-scale" BT-60/ST-13 based model. Parts are available except for the transition, which you have to make out of card stock or whatever.
Will require a bit of nose weight - about 10 grams in the case of this design.

Nice! Thanks for including the OR sim file - not that I need yet another winter project but that’s kind of a nifty design. |
