If you just want to add weight, and perhaps aren’t concerned with adding the lead weights to faithfully clone an oldie, I like to drill several holes in the balsa nose cone, drilling into base, at a slight angle, toward the tip. I then fill with BBs and plug with glue or epoxy.

I don't think Carl stocked them for more than a couple years and then switched to some dense washers of an Iridium color.
Probably had to do with all the BOGUS Lead liability issues.
