Here's a question for all. I thought that Carl was making replica NCW-1's for awhile. Am I correct or was it a dream?

I thought that they were a Semroc part, too. But no luck checking on eRockets website. I checked a number of other vendors, but could not find any.

If you just want to add weight, and perhaps aren’t concerned with adding the lead weights to faithfully clone an oldie, I like to drill several holes in the balsa nose cone, drilling into base, at a slight angle, toward the tip. I then fill with BBs and plug with glue or epoxy.

This was built by Bill Roe of Colorado Springs, and was on display at the 60th Old Rocketeer Reunion in August 2018 at Pueblo.

I don't think so - at least that's not what's pictured in my memory. The event in question was up in Thornton (north of Denver), not C Springs.
Neat device though...

They were, back in 2007, part number WL-7. Uncle Mikes sold something similar too around that time.

Semroc discontinued them a while ago.

I don't think Carl stocked them for more than a couple years and then switched to some dense washers of an Iridium color.
Probably had to do with all the BOGUS Lead liability issues.
