Default Estes Alpha III Decals

So I'm just finishing up my first project video on my YouTube channel (retrorockets) which is an Alpha III in 1970s markings. I noticed something odd that I had never noticed before...

I was taking steps to ensure my model closely resembled the catalog model (fyi, I was using the 1979 catalog for reference) and I noticed that the lower roll pattern decal that came with the kit was too long. I had to shorten it by about 0.5" to make it look about the same as the catalog model.

Anyway just kind of odd that I've built at least 5 of that kit over the years and never noticed that.

Right now it's just my intro video and a long winded rocketry "origin story". I should have the Alpha III video up soon. I still have to shoot an intro and a wrap up for it.

Most projects will be cloning classic kits but I am not limiting myself to that.

Thumbs up

Nice video. Just a few years older than you, so a lot of what you talked about brought back some good memories.
