Joe,

I "think" I have the plans in the original Model Rocket News, but better yet I have the Estes Design Booklet that Estes presented to participants at NARAM-11 in 1969 in Colorado Springs. That was my very first national meet. Vern and Gleda signed the booklet at a later NARAM.
When I refurbished the Challenger, I tried to follow the original paint pattern from when it was first built. I actually built a second new upper section since I had the correct transition and nose cone. Figured I would eventually build the booster and second stage with basswood fins to utilize the second payload section.
The flight was with the DARS section. They host a lot of scouting and other groups with their outreach program. This is usually the new rocketeers first exposure not only to model rockets, but staged, clustered, gliders, and composite motors up to the field's G limit.

Old enough to know what what is now retro was new....

I apologize for the double posting of the one pdf. Didn't see how to delete it.

Edit the post, go into "Manage Attachments" and "Remove" the duplicate.
