I always do a few demos at the end. I always have at least one or two BT-80 sized rockets with thick draggy fins on D12's.

I also build a throw-away two stager made from old scrapped Generic E2X rockets and fly with a C6-0 to C6-7 combo. Since it is a throw-away, I seem to always find it a couple blocks away and get it back. I put the longest crepe streamer that I can fit in it.

Here's the generic two stager along with a couple other demo rockets.

I have good word that the chutes will be printed but at this time it might be just one color..

I understand the print scheme to be very close to the old star burst pattern with the logo the same color.

Lets see what we get!

How about that.. that was my first post!.. been reading for some time....

One color will effectively be two colors according the the plastic's base color. Some classic Estes chutes were red/white and red/black. That's good enough for me.

Glad you decided to post, btw.

Curious, but I don't feel like bothering Christine!

In the old days, there were five color combinations of checkerboard patterns. 8 and 12 inch chutes came in all five, while 18" had three, and 24" had two.

Then in '71 Estes came out with the white with orange radials and black center chute for 12 and 18 inch, green radials for 10", purple radials for 24". Sometimes the 18" radials were red. One time they changed to a flourescent orange for the 12".

They changed up the colors every once in awhile, but the 12" chutes were mostly orange radials. In the 90's the black changed to dark blue/purple.

Finally, the last few years they've tried "Hot Topic" or what I'd call "skateboarder" designs.
I think those were maybe one or two designs/colors per size.

Although Estes catalogs only list two colors for the 24" parachute (red/white and orange/black) I have seen the odd example of red/yellow in that size. I think I have one in my collection.

Default New Estes Printed Chutes

...here's an image of the 12"...we think its pretty retro....I had to reduce the quality of the image to fit posting requirements, but you should get the idea of the new look.
Colors and sizes as follows:
6" Black
18" Blue
24" Red

...same pattern on all 4.

That is really nice.

I plan on buying a few to use on my smaller clones. The 6" model will be a nice alternative to a streamer.

Default New Estes Parachute Prices

I built a Little Beth X-2 and it calls for 8" parachutes for the BT-20D booster tubes.
I'm thinking that the 6" parachutes will work just fine as the booster tubes are 4 3/4" long.

Hey Jim,

Any pics of your Little Beth? Just curious as to the colors you chose.
And yes, the 6" should work just fine. I've attached a photo of mine.
I've flown it several times, but never brought a camera to get a launch pic
