The Luna Bug is a sci fi mosquito. A single ring version of the double ringer called Solo and others I don’t remember.

This actually makes me happy.
I think i'll head in to my local hobby lobby this weekend and see if they got any of these in.
As of two weeks ago my local hobby lobby was only stocking B motors a few launch sets and a few RTF rockets.

I got 7 of the kits and all the motors are listed on the face card under the max altitude. I opened the Solo and the motor is listed in the launch preparation section under ‘Estes launch supplies needed’. Could you check out your kits and see if they are listed in the instructions there?

You're right.

I was looking for the motor listings with the other information on the facecard (Length, Diameter, Recovery).

I failed to look closer at the max altitude listing.

No supper for me tonight.

Thanks for checking the instructions, I think your point is valid though, the motor listing is a bit ‘buried’ as we are used to them being organized with the other info. I think it needs a prominent ‘required to fly, purchase separately’, but maybe that’s too much hand holding. I also like the having the weight listed and that’s gone completely.

Okay, I have a question.

What does "ESAM-58" mean?

I'll take a guess.

How about "Estes Surface to Air Missile" and the "-58" refers to the year Estes Industries was founded (1958).

Maybe. Maybe not.

IIRC the JBR-013 rocket name means John Boren Rocket 2013 so you’re probably right about the ESAM!

The Epic II is two-stage (I think that answers Bernie's question). It looks like a re-painted Sterling Silver kit.

It turns out the answer, if any, is that HL is now carrying the Multi-Roc. That is a little better choice for C6-0 in the booster than Epic II is. Still.... it’s odd that B6-0s were clearanced. Heck, ford the Epic II an A8-0 on the first stage could make sense.

The Solo is a 'Single-Ringer' as compared to the Double Ringer kit using that BT-56 plastic fin unit.

Not so sure about that....both look to use an ARF fin can. The Solo just uses two conventional fins along with the two that support the glider. I need to get one of these.

There were two new starter sets which INCLUDED motors.
And I thought this was a great development until I saw the price differential between these new starter sets and the older launch sets. Less expensive to buy, say, an Alpha III launch set and a three-pack of motors at the same store. Odd.....

I just finished assembling the Hobby Lobby SOLO model.
It's bigger than expected and the pre-colored BT-55 is thick and strong.
This was a nice break from BT seam and balsa filling.
It'll be on the blog in a bit.

The engine selection at Hobby Lobby changes based on the models they sale. They only allow so many skews so sometimes a product needs to be removed.
