Yeah, as I commented a couple posts above, I’m not holding my breath on any of these dates at this point.

A new vehicle — though using a fair amount of older, known technology — and also the biggest thing NASA has flown in nearly 50 years all would seem to point to a number of launch issues and glitches to work out before the thing actually takes to the air. The wet dress rehearsal(s) did uncover a few things, and they have worked those issues the past couple months, but others may be lurking.

In any event, I *do* hope it goes sooner than later for NASA and that it is successful. The cost and schedule overruns are bad enough; a launch failure on top of that would be atrocious. And, one might think, would probably end the program.

Over at NASA Watch web site is this short article

Artemis Lunar Landings Will Be Rare Events

If you thought that the #Artemis Generation was going to enjoy - and be inspired by - the same cadence of lunar landings and exploration that the Apollo Generation witnessed - think again. Artemis lunar landings are only going to happen every couple of years throughout the decade

NASA is working towards rolling Artemis I out to the pad as soon as Tuesday of this week, ahead of the ‘current’ targeted launch date of August 29th.

(For you Elvis fans, Tuesday August 16 will mark 45 years since the passing of the ‘King’; believe that or not.)

Artemis 1 just exiting the doorway of the VAB tonight. Live feed from NASA and other sources. Spaceflight Now seems like a better feed.

Yes, and hopefully to never return! Meaning, no issues crop up requiring a return to the VAB for ‘fixes’.

Artemis 1 now well clear of the VAB and is currently making a nice reflection in the Turning Basin along side the crawler way. Still a number of hours before it reaches the top of Pad 39B.
