Semroc release announcement:8/5/2009: Leaving for NARAM-51! I am glad NARAM is a little later this year! We are finally getting to the final stages of preparations. If you are attending, be sure to stop by and fly with us. SAM Remember EAC or CAT? Well, we are bringing back SAM. Watch for more details! A surprise for NARAM We always bring along something for our customers at national events. Stop by and see what it is this time. But, don't wait too long, supplies are limited. Deci-ScaleTM Kits... We have just released our first two Deci-ScaleTM kits. Many of the most famous sounding rockets from the early days are perfect for 1/10 scale models. The first two are the IQSY TomahawkTM and IrisTM. The Deci-ScaleTM kits are intended to be fun to build, providing the beginning average modeler with all the parts needed to build a reasonably close scale model. An advanced scale modeler will find the included parts are very close to the exact scale that are needed for much closer models. The Deci-scaleTM line was inspired by G. Harry Stine who said, “the best beginner’s scale model I’ve ever found is the Thiokol-NASA I.Q.S.Y Tomahawk.” He designed a 1/10 scale model for Centuri Engineering Company that was very popular and sold for many years. More Thunder-kits... August 5, 2009 We just released two more in the Thunder series. The ThunderBee has been popular over the years, so we released the third and fifth in the series. The ThunderChiefTM is based on the ST- 8 series and flies with A-C engines. The ThunderStrikeTM is based on the ST-13 series and flies on D-E engines. All models in the series have the same basic shape, but use increasingly more powerful engines. Three popular Retro-Repro's from Centuri... The last three have been in the works for over four years. The Centuri MarauderTM is a two- stage high performance payload rocket sold by Centuri from 1967 until 1971. The Swift Boost GliderTM is a pop-pod glider two-stage sold by Centuri from 1969 until 1974. The Stellar SpartanTM is based on a mass merchandise model that was produced by Centuri from 1975 until 1976. Last edited by 5x7 : 05-01-2023 at 10:13 PM. |

![]() Attached is a scan of the fins for a kit I think was never released by Semroc, the K-47 Thunder Bird. The fins are available from E-rockets.
The decal scan is from the Centuri kit that I never finished building as a kid. |
