Default FlisKits: Announcement: Thing-a-ma-Jig

FlisKits is proud to announce that the Thing-a-ma-Jig is now available on our site for purchase!

For those of you who have asked, the price is $11.95 with a Edu Bulk Pack price of $6.95.

The main feature of this kit is the use of what we have coined "Jig-Tech" technology on the fins. They are so designed, with tabs and slots, that you assemble a balsa fin unit in seconds (literally) using white glue. The design is such that the fins will be perfectly straight and they will not fall apart while the glue dries.

AFter you get the rest of the main assembly complete, and the fin unit is dry, it simply slips onto the body tube and is glue in place.

All of the benifits of a plastic fin unit, all of the quality of real wood.

You can find the Thing-a-ma-Jig details here.

Any feedback on this kit is greatly appreciated. We expect this to become our biggest educational/youth group kit!

enjoy!
jim

That's a cool idea. This would be a great kit for kids to build. Simple enough that even I could put it together without screwing it up, and a lot more satisfying for them than something with a plastic fin can.

Exactly our point. We want to be able to provide a kit that the schools and youth groups will truely desire. Many such groups like the complex look of the Triskelion or the size of the Rhino, but we often run into groups with very tight budgets and/or very limited time and have little choice but to get an Almost Ready To FLy rocket.

The Thing-a-ma-Jig gives them another choice but one that has all of the quality of an all balsa kit and all the features of an Almost Ready to Fly kit (and at a good price to boot )
