Rocketpad Astron Ranger Clone: strange part
I'm not quite sure the Nose-Block/Balsa Bulkhead for the payload compartment is quite big enough for this Astron Ranger clone from Rocketpad.
See photo. Part in question is in lower left part of bag.

That looks like a nice clone kit. I’ve never seen their kits. I had to Google and all I found was the ebay listing for this. Did you win it? If so, great find. Looks like it went pretty cheap, and with cheap shipping.

Yeah, I got that one and an Astron Starlight.
I have built their Cobra, Ranger, Scrambler, and something else in the past. Their clone kits are OLD. Prior to existence of PD Rocketry and Semroc. Nice kits too. That BT60 nose block is big enough to cut 3 full size blocks. The Xacto Mitre-Box is getting used with the big razor saw.

I was gonna say that nose block material looks long enough for at least two and like you say, maybe even three. I measured my vintage Estes Ranger kit and the nose block was 1 and 11/16" long...a 1/16" shy of 1.75". Early 70s vintage kit. Earl

Yeah, this nose block is HUGE.
4.25" long. That gives 3 pieces of 1.42" or 2 pieces of 2.125" 1.42" is a little shorter than normal, but workable. 2.125" is WAYYYY too long.

Could have sworn I had something from RocketPad, but if I do, I can't figure out what it might be at this point. Seems to me they petered out right around the time Carl came on scene.

I don't think they were around much after Semroc came onto the scene either, Bill.
PD Rocketry came out after Semroc and made nice clone kits too (a bit better than Rocketpad) but they only lasted maybe 5 years. I bought and built many PDR kits. just got ahold of another of their K-21 clones this year. It will get built.
